A Little Bit More About Me...
Cher’e Nichole is a native of Portland, Oregon. She attended Morris Brown College, a historically black college in Atlanta, Georgia for 3 years and finished her studies at Portland State University, graduating in 2005 with a Bachelors of Science degree in Marketing. She obtained a job working in corporate America but soon decided to follow her dreams and passion and took a leap of faith to work for herself and become an Entrepreneur.
Cher'e left her job and enrolled in the International Beauty School in Portland, Oregon and received her hair design license in 2007. Cher’e has always had a passion for hair design. Every since she was 10 years old she has been expressing her creativity through drawing, sketching and practicing different hair designs. She comes from a legacy of family members in the hair industry. Her mother was a licensed hair Stylist and her grandfather, Herman Brame, was a licensed Barber who owned and operated two barber shops. In 1942 he established the first black owned barbershop located on Killingsworth St. in NE Portland Oregon.
For the past 11 years, Cher'e proudly continues his legacy by currently managing and working at the Killinsworth location now known as 'Studio Six Nine Hair Design'. In order to stay updated on hair care and current new hairstyles, she continues to travel to hair shows taking advanced courses in wig making, hair extensions, color, cutting, business classes and competes in hair competitions. She has attended shows and classes in Orlando FL, Seattle & Bellevue, WA, Atlanta, GA, Las Vegas Nevada, and Newark, New Jersey.
Cher'e has worked with celebrities on set like comedian Katt Willians and with ABC Studios network styling hair for actress Annie ILonzehl. She has been the hair stylist for the actresses at the annual Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Medford Oregon, was featured in Essence Magazine, has hosted events such as the 24 hour Weave- a-thon, vision board workshops, has held several hair care classes and has been a guest panel speaker on the topic of hair care.
Cher'e Nicole's mission is to uplift women, teach them optimal hair care, be a motivator and teacher to rising stylist and to be superior in customer service by making a difference and becoming a legacy in the hair industry one head at a time!
